UPDATE October 2022: We have been informed that benches were installed, replacing the old rusty ones.
Following a report by an individual submitted through our page on the 02/08/2022, we have forwarded to the MTA a communication highlighting the need to add kitting up benches at Zonqor Point. Below is the report we received and which has been forwarded to the MTA.
Hi,
I can’t understand why Zonqor Point has absolutely no kitting up facilities for Scuba Divers. We take divers there to escape from the packed Cirkewwa and Wied iz-Zurrieq sites, but just kitting up is already a struggle or one has to use the pavement, occasionally full of dog poo and pee and rubbish and dust! Fancy how much my clients love that!Thankfully the railing has been replaced recently but why is it so hard to install two/three simple sturdy benches like the ones at Cirkewwa or Xatt l-Ahmar? Why can’t there be two/three spaces next to them reserved for Diving Schools as well between 9-5 such as Cirkewwa? Weren’t the wrecks here scuttled to serve as an alternative to Cirkewwa and Zurrieq?
When is the diving strategy for quality tourist divers coming together?

We also know kitting up benches were also suggested earlier this year to the Inwadar Park management who was very receptive of the idea.
