NGO Żibel has once again outdone itself, with its members now recovering a whopping 150-metre ghost net from Malta’s waters.
The ghost net, which was lifted up from the Ċirkewwa area, was found to have a number of marine animals attached to it, most of which were dead.
The ghost net was estimated to be around 120-metres to 150-metres in size, making it a mid-size one. Fourteen dead fish were found attached to it, along with a lobster and a few crabs which were thankfully saved.
