In a week in which scores of foreign divers are flocking to Malta for one of the major events in the diving calendar in ages, the Rebreather Forum 4, and the Science Diver event which will run concurrently at the end of this week, in Gozo, a drainage overflow is affecting one of the best shore dive sites for deep diving.
Authorities are urged, once again to solve this issue which recurs from time to time and in the past has been linked to illegal dumping of animal waste in the drainage systems. For the time being, the site should be off limits to any self-respecting diver. The site will be exposed to strong winds in the coming days which we hope it will clear it up fast…
Whilst LovinMalta (who shared the bad news) stated it contact WSC, on its website no issue was visible on site so we have proceeded to report it ourselves too. you can do such reports at https://live.wsc.com.mt/publicweb. This site and its collaborators have also sent reports to various interested parties to the to grip with the issue asap.
