Updated 28/05/2025: On 27/05/2025 we have received a confirmation from the PA to the Prime Minister that the petition was received and was being directed to the relevant ministry. We did reply back reminding that we indicated that this was a multi-ministry issue, and that we hoped the points would be addressed accordingly.
Today is the third anniversary from the launching of the 2022 Diving Strategy on which we have reported many times, and kept a pretty much up to date progress tracker over time.
Following last month’s petition, we have today (at 1.32am to be precise) sent a letter to the Prime Minister and with related Ministers and their head of secretariats in copy to highlight your concerns as divers and presented the petition.
We are attaching a sanitised version which leaves out our and your personal details. The same version has also been circulated to various media rooms & other relevant interested parties which we’re not naming here.
Sending the letter does not stop us chasing in the near future – and neither should you. Keep using the dive site issues report system to file diving site issues, forward this letter to your local MP and in general, whilst we show that we love our underwater environment around these islands, we don’t just complain, but also push to have a better diving experience for us, and our visiting buddies!
