Transport Malta announced in a coastal notice to mariners that starting next week over six days an underwater video survey will be carried out in waters around the Maltese Islands.
The unnamed entity seems to be planning to cover a lot of ground, as the map provided in the local notice to mariners appears HUGE! The shaded part to be surveyed covers all the local shoreline as well as an area roughly five times the size of the islands! Unless we’re not being told something (and still being quite early for first of April jokes) this would be quite a lot of petabytes (if not more) in data 🙂
