Here in Malta, we are incredibly lucky to have some of the most historic wrecks, amazing underwater topography and passionate dive communities in the world. Whether you are exploring the local sites around Malta & Gozo or running a busy dive center, you know that our sport is constantly evolving.
But what does the future of scuba diving actually look like?
To answer that, our friends at Diving Talks are sharing a crucial global project: the Future Divers Initiative survey. They are calling on divers from the Mediterranean and beyond to share their thoughts, experiences, and visions for the years ahead.
Why Your Voice Matters
The diving industry is at a turning point. As we look ahead through 2026 and beyond, understanding the needs of both veteran divers and newcomers is vital for the survival and growth of the sport.
By participating in this initiative, you are helping to:
- Identify the biggest barriers keeping new divers out of the water.
- Shape how dive centers and agencies develop future training programs.
- Highlight what divers truly care about, from marine conservation to new dive technologies.
- Ensure the global diving community—including our local Maltese scene—continues to thrive.
Who Should Take the Survey?
Everyone! Whether you have never dived, or just earned your Open Water certification, you are a seasoned technical diver logging hours on deep wrecks, or you work full-time in the diving industry, your perspective is needed.
The survey is completely anonymous, takes just a few minutes to complete, and provides the industry with the hard data needed to make positive, lasting changes.
Be Part of the Solution
Do not miss this chance to have your say in the future of the sport we all love.
