
The NGO “UNICI“, a registered Voluntary Organisation, has in the last few weeks been advertising applications for persons with physical or visual impairment to learn scuba diving for free (courtesy of Erasmus+ programme funding) in Modica, Sicily.
Divinginfo.mt asked for further information and we have been informed that the course leads to an Handicapped SCUBA Association certificate. The course following a pre-selection starts with online theory lessons and then practical sessions in Modica, Sicily at the end of April, beginning of May.

Accessible SCUBA DIVING Course delivered by a qualified scuba diving instructor Mr Carmelo La Rocca from Futuro Mare . Mr La Rocca, who also has a disability himself, carries more than 20 years of experience and specialization in this sector.
Course information:
10 Adults with Disability have the opportunity to learn scuba diving (no experience needed) and earn an HSA Certificate recognized Worldwide.
Practical part will take place in Modica, Sicily from 28th April to 4th May 2025.
Accommodation for 7 days at the www.kikkivillage.net – a super accessible resort which caters for all ones needs;
ALL EXPENSES COVERED – that’s right! The scuba diving costs, travelling and accommodation expenses are all covered since this is an EU funded project.
