The renowned Forbes magazine recently announced (https://www.forbes.com/sites/ceciliarodriguez/2024/02/07/best-places-to-visit-in-europe-in-2024-marbella-tops-list-by-european-best-destinations/) its top 20 European destinations for this year. Malta received a place on the podium, citing in particular the marine environment and the diving opportunities.
Whilst the competition was stiff (we honestly picked up a couple of other places we might wish to visit soon for some relax-time), only one other destination in these top 20 seems to also have offered diving (7th placed Madeira, Portugal)
We love this good result for our islands, but we also see a lot of opportunity in improving the marine and nearby experiences for both locals and tourists! Powers that be, don’t rest on these laurels and work harder!
