Diving Centres

Diving Centres in Malta must be legally licensed by the Malta Tourism Authority. Individuals are not allowed to provide recreational diving services unless through a licensed diving centre. The MTA has an information page about diving tourism on its website at www.visitmalta.com.
A list of licensed diving centres may be seen at this link: https://www.mta.com.mt/en/licensing (scroll down to “Downloads” section).
The Malta Tourism Authority also lists the following with regards to compliance and enforcement:

These standards have been designed around the European Standards which focus on the service and safety aspects of recreational diving. This has resulted in confirming Malta as one of the safest diving locations in the world. This legislation can be downloaded from the government website”
The Professional Diving School Association is the largest association of Diving Centres / Schools and is a primary stakeholder with the Malta Tourism Authority’s efforts to maintain the diving tourism product. More information about the PDSA may be found on its website at http://pdsa.org.mt/
