The Malta Police Force announced this afternoon that a 41-year old diver lost his life whilst doing works off St. Paul’s Islands.
A 41-year-old diver, a resident of Rabat, unfortunately lost his life while carrying out some work in the area of St Paul’s Islands.
The Police were informed about the accident at around noon (1200 hrs).
The diver was brough ashore at Bugibba by the Armed Forces of Malta, where a medical team started assisting him, but unfortunately, he was certified dead shortly afterwards.
Magistrate Dr Monica Borg Galea LL.D was informed of the case and appointed an inquiry to determine the cause of death.
Investigations by the Police, together with the Occupational Health and Safety Authority, into the accident are ongoing.

Later in the day, local news portals identified the diver as 41-year old Redeemer Grima from Rabat.
