28/03/2025 | Zonqor Wrecks - Marsaskala | Resolved | No handrails/ access ladder at Zonqor POint Wreck - very much needed to walk on uneven entrance point. -- Divinginfo.mt update 27/04/2025 - after a reminder was sent, we were informed by the Cleansing and Maintenance department that "it is still early in the season to install the requested ladder and railing". We have sent a nasty reply reminding that diving has a year-round season and that a strategy announced in 2022 mentioned ladders being available all year round! -- Second update 28/04/2025 from Cleansing & Maintenance Department: "Thank you for contacting again the Cleansing and Maintenance Division with your detailed email. We would like to inform you that your request has been forwarded to the unit concerned within our Division for their immediate attention. They will be assessing the situation and if necessary, will coordinate with other entities to ensure the installation of the handrails and/or ladders as requested." We noted at beginning of summer the issue was resolved.
20/03/2025 | Xatt L'Ahmar Wrecks | Open / Current Issue | Handrails at one of the ladders missing, therefore can not be used to enter and exit
11/03/2025 | Billinghurst & Cathedral | Resolved | No doving in the Gozo North! With predominant east wind, Reqqa Point is not a safe entrance and exit point. Unfortunately no other divesites do have ladders (broken and not replaced), therefore diving in the Gozo north is only possible over Xwejni bay (a training site) or taking the 100 steps towards Wiedh Il Ghasri ---- UPDATE by divinginfo.mt 11/03/2025 - Report forwarded and copied in correspondence stating that direction was given for installation at the earliest possibility. ----- Update 14/03/2025 - Billingshurst ladder installed. Let us know if you notice any other improvements. --- Update 14/06/2024 - Cathedral Cavern ladder installed as seen from PDSA announcement.
11/03/2025 | Inland Sea | Resolved | No ladder for safe entrance. The site is not affected by any great storms, the removal of the ladder is therefore not really understandable. Apparently only for a quick mantainance but it has been months now. A generally protected dive site but due to missing ladder it makes the entrance unsafe due to algae on the rocks and big Boulders all the way. ---- UPDATE by divinginfo.mt 11/03/2025 - Report forwarded and copied in correspondence stating that direction was given for installation at the earliest possibility. -- Update 25/03/2025 - Stairs replaced and is being galvanised, to be picked up this week and installed immediately. -- Update 12/04/2025 - Stairs put back in place, issue resolved
07/03/2025 | Dwejra Gozo | Resolved | 8.10 AM bathrooms are locked 🔒 Why??? --- divinginfo.mt update - report passed on to authorities on 07/03/2025 - we were also informed the bathrooms were opened later that day.
23/02/2025 | Xatt L’Ahmar, Red Bay | Open / Current Issue | The "parking" gets just temporarily fixed, once some rain falls, it gets all washed into the sea again. Observed on the 23rd February, after some rain, that construction waste was used to fill the holes, including tiles, pipes and concrete bricks. Shame what we show our guest as "world best diving destination" -- Divinginfo.mt - report passed on on 04/03/2025.
06/02/2025 | Inland sea | Resolved | Entrance ladder dissapeared at Inland Sea. Was still there in January, making now entrance and exit very challenging if not dangerous with gear. ---- UPDATED divinginfo.mt 06/02/2025 - issues has been raised and we have been informed that the stairs have been removed for maintenance. No ETA for return has yet been provided. -- Updated 12/04/2025 - Other report relates, Issue resolved.
07/01/2025 | Reqqa Point, Gozo | Open / Current Issue | Upper railing dangerously bend and other parts breaking off due to unprofessional installment with wood chips and little concrete
30/12/2024 | Xatt l-Ahmar, 3 wrecks entrance | Open / Current Issue | Whilst both ladders at Xatt l-Ahmar 3 wrecks entrance are still here, both don't have any retaining chains any more. The first good storm will take them away if not secured! Save time for yourself and install chains/bolts asap as this is a backup site for the winter season for Malta and Gozo dive centres! ------- UPDATE: Divinginfo.mt 31/12/2024: Response from Ministry for Gozo, Maintenance and Public Cleansing section "The maintenance requested will be completed by the end of this week."
28/12/2024 | Cathedral & Reqqa | Resolved | Missing/broken ladders ------------- UPDATE: Divinginfo.mt 31/12/2024: Response from Ministry for Gozo, Maintenance and Public Cleansing section: "We will take care of this soon.", --- Update 14/06/2024 - Cathedral Cavern ladder installed as seen from PDSA announcement. |
